Sourdough Sky

The Sourdough Sky Family

Sourdough Sky is the culmination of Derx spending the last 5 years discovering his sound, and recording his debut solo album.  A life long player that expanded his musical palette.

These are the main instruments used on Sourdough Sky. The mandolin is a 1915 Gibson A-3 pumpkin mandolin bought by his great-great grandfather and passed down to him.  The resonator guitar used on the album is a National Trojan resurrected from the 1930’s. The main guitar used on most songs is a recent Martin D-15 all mahogany  from 2000. The bass played on several songs is a 1970’s Engelhardt Bass used by hundreds of students, named Chelsea.
